James D. Scott Sr.

James D. Scott Sr., 64, of Paulding, died Friday, July 15, 2011.

He was born October 18, 1946, in Paulding, the son of the late Ora L. and Ethel Sara (Raines) Scott. On September 3, 1966, he married Donna J. (Fabian) Scott, who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kimberly (Josh) Grimes of Oakwood, and Kristina (James) Varner of Paulding; a son, James (Theresa) Scott of Huntertown, Ind.; three brothers, Bernard (Sharon) Scott of Vann Wert, Frank Scott of Parrotsville, Tenn., and Lewis (Annabelle) Scott of Texas; a sister, Doris Grubb of Paulding; and eight grandchildren.

A sister, Irene Haney, and one grandson, Kyle Varner, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at the Paulding Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Kim and Cindy Semran officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
