Ril T. Miller

Ril T. Miller, 85, died at 4:31 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

He was born August 16, 1925, in Mendon, the son of the late Alpha and Josephine (Murlin) Miller. On November 13, 1944, in Annapolis, Md., he married Viola Mae Long, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2008.

Survivors include six children, Rosa VanGundy of Rockford, Linda (Ed) Frey of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ronald (Becky) Miller of Kokomo, Ind., Randy (Shirley) Miller of Van Wert, Rebecca (Mike) Barber of St. Marys and Lori Heckert of Ashland; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Deborah Sue Miller; three siblings and their spouses, Dwight and Joan Miller, Clayton “KK” and Gladys Miller and Betty and Wayne Kennedy, and a son-in-law, George VanGundy, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. Kim Neumannn officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Celina American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Life Enrichment Center at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Living Community or the Kidney Dialysis Unit at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
