Charles Ralph Huffman

Charles Ralph Huffman, 81, of Elida and formerly of Van Wert, died at 4:40 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at his residence.

He was born September 11, 1929, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Evan Allison and Hilinda Elizabeth (Muntzinger) Huffman. On October 24, 1975, he married Mary M. “Peggy” (Buttell) Huffman, who survives.

Other survivors include three children, Katherine L. (Alan D.) Perry of St. Louis, Mo., Richard L. (Becky) Counselor of Hubbard Lake, Mich., and Lori L. Reidenbach Acerro of Elida; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
