LeRoy Hittle

LeRoy “Wayne” Hittle, 74, of Paulding, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 20, 1936, in Middle Point, the son of the late Roy and Cleo (Evans) Hittle. On November 7, 1970, he married Carol Sue (Fockler) Hittle, who preceded him in death on May 17, 1988.

Survivors include six children, Kami Wagner of Montpelier, Kari (Jeff) Young of Van Wert, Saundra Wagner of Montpelier, Sheryl (Jim) Coon of New Bremen, Tamara (Todd) Germain of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jeff Hittle of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his faithful companions, Cocoa and Princess.

A son, Michael W. Hittle, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
