The article in Inside Healthcare talks about the hospital’s development of focus groups and surveys to help identify areas to improve and efforts to reduce turnaround time in the emergency department that resulted in the hospital being in the top 5 percent in that admitting-discharge time.

The magazine also noted that local hospital officials are now reviewing a study by an outside firm and plans to implement a best practices program at the hospital over the next 6-18 months.

The hospital is also looking at Electronic Medical Records implementation and other technology improvements aimed at improving efficiencies and reducing expenses.
