Clifford Dean Hummell
Clifford Dean Hummell, 84, of Grover Hill, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Gardens of Paulding.

He was born February 20, 1927, in Paulding County, the son of the late Noel and Prescillia (Parsons) Hummell. On December 24, 1946, he married Lou Ann (Welch) Hummell, who survives in Grover Hill.
Mr. Hummell was employed as a foreman for Masolite in Fort Wayne, Ind., and was a farmer. Clifford loved woodworking and created many treasured pieces of art from wood. In the winter, you might find him working on a 1,500-piece jigsaw puzzle and enjoying time with his family. During the summer months, he spent many days fishing at his cottage at Huyck Lake, Mich. He was also an avid gardener and grew many different varieties of vegetables and fruits.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Janis (Danny) Price of Defiance and Deb Paputsakis of Paulding; a sister, Marjorie Phlipot of Paulding; four grandchildren, Kylee (Joe) McMichael, Drew Price, Sara Paputsakis and Rachel (Steven) Binnix; and two great-grandchildren, Grant and Savannah McMichael.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, July 25, and an hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
