Thomas Hugh Ainsworth
Thomas Hugh Ainsworth, 76, of rural Ohio City, died at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born May 9, 1935, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Hugh V. and Martha Helen (Wiseman) Ainsworth. On November 16, 1973, he married Marilyn Joan (Gallant) Ainsworth, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Thomas J. (Vickie) Ainsworth of Wren and Bruce E. Ainsworth of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Jackie Ainsworth of Ohio City and Sharon Ainsworth of Van Wert; a stepson, Mike (Shawn) Fickert of Middle Point; two brothers, Edwin Ainsworth and Mark (Deborah) Ainsworth, both of Ohio City; three sisters, Norma Jean Bowen, Sue (Leroy) Ernie and Annie (Bill) Carr, all of Ohio City; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A son, Roger Hugh Ainsworth (in 1957); one brother, John David Ainsworth; a sister, Donna Lea Ainsworth; one sister-in-law, Portia Ainsworth; and a brother-in-law, Ray Bowen, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohio City, with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 that evening.
