Tryouts set for VWCS volleyball teams

The Van Wert volleyball program will be holding tryouts for the 2011 season, starting Monday, August 1 and running until Wednesday, August 3.

The high school tryouts will be from 6-8 p.m. in the high school gym and the middle school tryouts will be from 5- 7 p.m. in the middle school gym. Anyone interested in trying out for one of the teams must be in attendance at all tryouts. Team selections will be announced by Thursday, August 4.

Any girl that will be entering grades 7-12 in the Van Wert City Schools this fall will be eligible to try out. All athletes must have their proper school paperwork and physicals done and turned into the athletic department to be able to try out.

The teams will start mandatory practice on Thursday, August 4, from 5-7 p.m. There will also be a mandatory parents meeting in the high school gym at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, to go over Ohio High School Athletic Association regulations and volleyball expectations for the season.
