Tamela S. Gibson

Tamela S. “Tammy” Gibson, 41, of Scott, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in Van Wert County.

She was born July 15, 1970, in Sandusky, the daughter of Linda L. (Funkhouser) Donaldson, who survives in Haviland, and the late Alfred L. Meggitt.

On October 7, 1994, she married Jason Gibson, who survives in Scott.

Other survivors include her stepmother, Parketta Meggitt of Norwalk; her stepfather, Richard “Doder” Akom of Scott; two children, Lindsey N. Gibson and Alexis R. Gibson, both of Scott; three brothers, Robert L. Meggitt of Franklin, Ind., John W. Meggitt of Van Wert and A.G. (Christina) Meggitt of Norwalk; four sisters, Karen L. Meggitt, Laurie A. Bergman and Amy E. (Jeff) Cotterman, all of Scott, and Kirstin R. (Dustin) Fitch of Sebring, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Lori Banet of Holiday, Fla., and Susan (Weston) Mills of Van Wert; and 21 nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Cynthia and Susan Meggitt, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Donald Marlowe officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at the funeral home.
