ODOT lists coming week’s road projects

ODOT information

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 1 has issued its weekly report on construction and maintenance projects in the district.

Work in Van Wert, Paulding and Putnam counties during the week of August 1 are as follows:

Van Wert County

  • Ohio 709, from Ohio City to Venedocia, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Van Wert County ODOT personnel are performing the work, with assistance from adjacent ODOT country crews.
  • Ohio 118, from Van Wert to the Van Wert-Mercer County line, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Van Wert County ODOT personnel are performing the work, with assistance from adjacent county ODOT crews.
  • U.S. 224 resurfacing between U.S. 30 and the Van Wert-Putnam County line is completed.
  • Ohio 118 (Shannon Street), between Ervin Road and Main Street, remains open to local traffic only during reconstruction, widening and water line and sanitary sewer installation. Localized one-block closures will occur throughout the project. Beginning August 8, the intersection of Ervin Road and Shannon Street will be closed for three weeks for installation of drainage and water line construction. Work should be completed in September. Shelly Company of Thornville is performing the work.
  • U.S. 30, between U.S. 224 and Lincoln Highway, is restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for a resurfacing project that began May 2. Work will continue until mid-summer. A width restriction of 11 feet is no longer in effect. The Shelly Company of Findlay is performing the work.

Paulding County

  • County Road 424 (formerly U.S. 24), from the Ohio-Indiana state line to Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing that will continue until September. Gerken Paving of Napoleon is performing the work.

Putnam County

  • Ohio 65 south of Ottawa will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for ditch cleaning. Putnam County ODOT crews are performing the work.
