Family Health Care to celebrate week
Van Wert independent/FHC information
Family Health Care will be celebrating National Health Center Week from August 8-12. During the week it will have special events at the Health Center, located at 140 Fox Road, Suite 304, as well as its annual fundraiser.

On August 10, a drive-through pork barbeque sandwich meal will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. at the west end of the Health Center parking lot. The meal will include Wild Hare’s pork barbeque sandwich, cole slaw, chips, cookie and drink for just $5 (presale tickets only). All proceeds will benefit Family Health Care.
Family Health Care is a non-profit organization that provides primary health care to individuals and families in the area who would otherwise go without a provider. FHC accepts patients with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and uninsured clients on a sliding fee scale, based on household income.
FHC also assists clients with a drug assistance program. Many drug companies provide free or greatly reduced medications to clients who don’t have the ability to pay, and the FHC staff is trained to assist its clients in applying for those medications.
Dr. Tom Lautzenheiser and Mary Coplin, C.N.P., are the health care providers at Family Health Care. Those in need of primary care can call 419.238.6747.
Family Health Care is supported by United Way of Van Wert County.
