Buckeye Youth enjoys Camp Clay

Buckeye Youth recently held its summer camp at the YMCA’s Camp Clay. The group stayed in the newly restored log cabin and the large tipi available at the camp. The aqua park and paddleboats were a favorite part of the weekend. Camp Clay Facilitator Clint Myers led the group in team building activities using the aqua park equipment and also delivered a presentation about the snakes and bees in the Rotary Nature Center, also located at the site. Buckeye Youth members cooked meals over a charcoal grill, and made pudgy pies over an open camp fire. Those attending also crafted art projects using colored sand scenes in clear jars. Buckeye Youth is a United Way agency and is also funded by The Van Wert County Foundation. (Buckeye Youth photo)
