Semis collide on U.S. 30

One semi tractor-trailer rig rear-ended another in the westbound lanes of U.S. 30, near the intersection with Bockey Road, at approximately 4 this morning. The driver of the vehicle that rear-ended the other was trapped in his cab for more than an hour, but attempts to life-flight him from the scene was unsuccessful because of low-lying fog that rolled in this morning. Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the accident at 5:45 a.m. today. Delphos Fire and Rescue was also assisting at the scene. (Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
