Richard R. Jellison

Richard R. Jellison, 74, of Van Wert, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at SCCI Hospital in Lima.

He was born May 26, 1937, in Decatur, Ind., the son of the late Robert F. and Lola R. (Giessler) Jellison. He married Carrie B. (Barns) Jellison, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Richard L. Jellison of Van Wert and Tamara L. Branham of Defiance; a brother, Ronald (Rose) Jellison Fallbrook, Calif.; one sister, Roberta (James) Thomas of North Carolina; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mark Fuerstenau officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, August 11, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: 4-H Camp Scholarship Fund, Van Wert County Council on Aging or a charity of donor’s choice.
