VWMS orientation, schedule pick-up set

Van Wert Middle School officials have announced 2011-2012 school opening information for parents and students.

Sixth grade students are invited to an orientation to be held from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, August 16. The orientation is for students, but parents will have an opportunity to meet with teachers and administrators throughout the morning. Sixth grade students should enter for orientation, using the VWMS canopy main entrance doors. Sixth graders will also enjoy a complimentary pizza lunch to conclude orientation, while parents may pick up students at noon at the VWMS gymnasium entrance.

Parents of sixth grade students are invited to an open house welcome from 9-10:30 a.m. August 16 in the First Federal Lecture Hall located in the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio. Parents may park and enter through the VWMS canopy main entrance. Parents will enjoy an informal, informational meeting focused on helping provide students with a positive start to middle school from teachers and administration. There will also be an opportunity to visit individual classrooms from 10-10:30 that morning. In addition to the orientation and classroom visits, parents can also pay student fees while at the school.

Seventh and eighth grade students may stop by the school any time between 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, to pick up class schedules and pay fees. Students should enter through the VWMS main entrance doors.

Parents of seventh- and eighth grade students are invited to a parent open house welcome from 9-10 a.m. August 17 in the NPAC Lecture Hall. Parents may park and enter using the VWMS main entrance doors.

Parents will be able to attend an informal informational meeting conducted by administration and teachers. There will also be an opportunity to visit individual classrooms from 10-11 a.m. and parents can also pay student fees in the office at that time.
