Charles F. Bockey Sr.

Charles F. Bockey Sr., 85, of Delphos, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Vancrest Health Center in Delphos.

He was born September 11, 1925, in Delphos, the son of the late Emmett and Emma (Warnecke) Bockey. On September 9, 1950, he married Mary Lou (Mueller) Bockey, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Randy Bockey of Georgia; three daughters, Marilyn Rahrig of Delphos, Diana (Ralph) Edwards of Florida and Laurie (Mark) Hamilton of Elida; one brother, Mike (Berta) Bockey of Delphos; a sister, Jeanette (Cy) Miller of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Charles E. Bockey Jr. and Gary Bockey; a daughter, Linda Bockey; four sisters, Betty Beining, Mary Jane Plescher, Shirley Bockey and Marjorie Bockey; two brothers, Ralph and Donald Bockey; and a grandson, Ryan Bockey, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, with Father Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will be at a later date, with graveside military rites performed by the Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
