Mary E. Kern

Mary E. Kern, 87, of Fredericksburg, Va., died Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Ms. Kern was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her children, Jim Kern, Jean Davis, Joyce Reeg and Joel Kern; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Richard Kern, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at a later date in Hamlin, Kansas.

There will be no calling hours.

Preferred memorials: First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert.
