2011 Community Days events highlighted

CONVOY — The 2011 edition of Convoy Community Days will be celebrated September 23-25 at the village’s Edgewood Park.

A large number of events for all ages are being planned for the weekend festival. Some of the highlights include:

Friday

Gibson’s Backyard BBQ chicken or rib dinners, lawn mower drag races, Lions Club Bingo and more. Registration will be Friday, September 16, at the park.

Saturday

Food will be served all day in the community building, featuring Gibson’s Backyard BBQ Pulled Pork. There will also be a men’s softball tournament, kiddy tractor pull and other kids’ activities, Mark’s Animal Show, Basket Bingo, the annual Community Days Parade with the theme this year of “Convoy Preschool Celebrating 25 Years”, a martial arts demo, juggler Craig Muhlenkamp, a kickball tournament, a truck pull, Fifties and Sixties dance with “Crossroads”.

Sunday

Coed softball tournament, 5K run, sandwiches and a dessert bar, Preach’n at the Park, a cornhole tournament, and a reverse raffle.
