Cougar golfers win Shawnee dual meet
LIMA — The Cougars traveled to the Shawnee Country Club to take on the defending Western Buckeye League champs and won the match 161-187.

Shawnee returns just one letterman from last year’s squad so “rebuilding” is the theme for the Indians. The course was littered with bulldozers busy rebuilding all of the tee boxes, so yesterday’s match was played on temporary tee boxes that made things interesting. Tyler Turnwald and Jacob Brake shared team and match medalist honors, both with solid 38s. The rest of Cougars were as follows: Vince Moreland, 42; Matt Cucciarre, 43; Brandon Hernandez, 46; and Adam Jurczyk, 52.
The Cougars are 1-0 in dual matches, while Shawnee moves to 1-3 overall. The Cougars return to action Tuesday in a tri-match against Coldwater and Parkway. The match will begin at 4:30 at Deerfield.
