Marijuana seized

Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department deputies confiscated 31 marijuana plants while acting on an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen. Street value of the plants, which were found along Hartsock Road in Willshire Township, is approximately $31,000. Sheriff’s Department detectives are continuing their investigation into the case and Sheriff Stan D. Owens encourages anyone with information about the plants, or any other illegal activity, to contact his office at 419.238.3866 or Crime Stoppers at 419.238.7867. The Van Wert Police Department also seized two marijuana plants in the 300 block of North Wayne Street after receiving an anonymous tip. Those plants were turned over to be destroyed.
