Hiriam C. Smith

Hiriam C. Smith, 72, of Paulding, died Sunday, August 28, 2011, at his residence.

He was born September 22, 1938, in McNeill, Miss., the son of the late C.T. and Lena (Fraizer) Smith. On January 15, 1960, he married Cathrin Perry, who survives.

Survivors include a son, Tracy Smith of Paulding; one daughter, Regena (Gerald) Butler of Euless, Texas; a sister, Mary Ann Malley of McNeill, Miss.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Pearlie Melvin, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, at Emmanuel   Baptist Church in Paulding, with the Rev. Drew Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, and an hour prior services Friday at the church.
