The Board of Directors for Main Street Van Wert has selected Adam Ries for the position of interim program manager. Ries, who assumes responsibility for the position currently held by Seth Baker, will start his new job today.

Ries is a native of Van Wert and a recent graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a degree in interior design as a student in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design.

While engaged in large and small architectural design projects, Ries acquired an appreciation for historic preservation.

“I aspire to work with a collaborative team of individuals where I can apply my design education, varied work experiences and passion for historic preservation to benefit my community,” Ries said.

An open house is being hosted by the Main Street Van Wert Board of Directors at the MSVW office on Wednesday, August 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The business and professional communities, along with stakeholders in Main Street Van Wert, are invited to meet Ries and congratulate Baker for a job well done.
