Club plans activities for the fair

By Rex Dolby

Members of the Wassenberg Camera Club took in entries for the Fair photography exhibit.

The Wassenberg Camera Club had invited everyone from the Van Wert area to attend their meeting Thursday, August 25, to learn more about matting and framing pictures for competition.  Nearly all the meeting however, was directed toward details of  the October Photography Exhibit, the recently published prospectus for the show,  and the number of pictures to be exhibited.

President Jodi Hattery announced that the club’s regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Sept. 22, would be rescheduled for the following Thursday, Sept. 29, to ready the pictures for exhibit and that the club would be assisting the fair board on Sunday, August 28, by checking in the photography entries from 1-5 pm in the Art Hall.  Members would return Monday, the 29th at 6 p.m. to assist the judges as they selected the winners in each of the five categories for color and B/W in both senior and junior divisions.

Club members will act as hosts for the exhibit during the fair and will assist in preparing the pictures for pickup on the day following the fair’s closing.

The club’s next meeting will be Thursday, September 8, at 7 p.m. in the Wassenberg Art Center at 643 S. Washington St. in Van Wert.  Farm Equipment will be the competition theme that evening.
