Robert D. Yuill, 40, of Columbus, entered guilty pleas to two counts of forgery and one count of identity fraud and was sentenced by Judge Charles D. Steele to six months in prison on each count. The sentences are to run concurrent to each other and to sentences handed down in Auglaize County for similar offenses.

The sentence was the same as a co-defendant, Tonya Moore, 32, also of Columbus, who was sentenced August 25 in Common Pleas Court.

Both Yuill and Moore were in Van Wert in November 2010 and printed checks with the name of a local business. The pair then cashed, or attempted to cash, the checks at other local businesses. They also committed similar crimes in Auglaize County, for which they were sentenced previously.

Elmico Crisp, 35, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to a charge of drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and was immediately sentenced to a basic prison term of six months. The judge then gave him credit for time served, since he had been in jail since being indicted on the charge.

Crisp was arrested as a result of an accident investigation that occurred in February. Crisp was found to be in possession of heroin during the investigation.

Ronny Black, 52, of Delphos, was sentenced Wednesday to a year of community control and ordered to spend 60 days in jail on a charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Black was arrested in Delphos in connection with a domestic dispute that occurred between his wife and him.
