“The Chamber Board was very impressed with Susan’s vision for the Chamber and her strategy for building relationships within the community,” said Shonda Vorst, chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “She has a multitude of skills and knowledge that will be vital assets to the success of the Chamber.”

Munroe replaces Kate Gribble, who resigned in July.

“I believe in a prosperous future for the Van Wert area, and will be steadfast in my commitment to lead the Chamber’s partnership with area businesses to build economic growth,” said Munroe.

Since 2001, Munroe has served as the children and family program director for First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, where she was responsible for creating and directing programming and special events, managing volunteers, and implementing and directing event planning, fundraising, and internal and external promotional opportunities.

Prior to her work at First Presbyterian, Susan held positions as advertising manager, public relations specialist, and marketing specialist with AT&T. She holds a master’s degree in corporate communications and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication.

Munroe has volunteered extensively throughout the Van Wert community for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, the Van Wert High School Athletic Boosters, Van Wert High School Band Parents, and Boy Scouts.

Munroe and her husband, Steve, have three children, and have been Van Wert residents since 1993.
