Rev. Larry G. Fries

The Rev. Larry G. Fries, 67, of Celina, died at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born November 22, 1943, the son of the late Charles Frederick Fries and Jan (Kiser) Fries Campbell. On October 3, 1969, he married Mary Kay (Gingrich) Fries, who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Shawn Mescheal (Rev. Simon) Young of Piqua and Melissa Gail (Mark) Williams of Van Wert; a son, Larry Lamont (Erin) Shannon of Shakopee, Minn.; three brothers, Charles F. (Sharon) Fries Jr. of Piqua, the Rev. Robert L. (Phyllis) Fries of Sidney and the Rev. Gregory M. (Patricia) Fries of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one sister, Sharon R. (Gary) Arnold of International Fall, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 15, at New Life Apostolic Church in Celina, with members of the Fries family officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, with graveside military rites performed.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, and an hour prior to services on Thursday, all at the church.
