Big, Little Sisters attend Girls’ Night Out

CELINA — On July 12, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize, and Van Wert Counties hosted Girls’ Night Out for all the Little and Big Sisters in the program at the Richardson Bretz Building in Celina.

The girls learned some table etiquette tips before dinner was served. The rest of the time was spent getting their hair styled, making bracelets, painting fingernails, and scrapbooking. Those attending also got to decide what they wanted to do and could spend as much time as they wanted at each station. The bracelet making seemed to be the most popular.

Each girl was able to take home a fingernail polish, and two girls chosen by raffle took home gift bags with assorted items in them.

Featured guest was 2011 Miss Ohio Ellen Bryan, who spoke to the girls about her pageant experiences and explained her platform. She also autographed photos for each of the girls to take home.

Anyone interested in becoming a Big (volunteer) or who knows a child that would benefit from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, can contact the BBBS office by phone at 419.394.2990 or 866.670.2227, by email at office@bbbsma.com, or by stopping by the office at 204 E. Spring St. in St. Marys.
