VWMS runners do well at VWCH CC meet
It was another great day of racing for the Van Wert Middle School cross country teams Saturday at the Van Wert County Hospital Invitational.
The boys’ team was well represented, finishing second out of 24 teams. The Lady Cougars also brought home a team trophy, finishing fourth out of 18 teams.
Pacing the Cougars through the rain was Cade Fleming, who finished in 15th place in 11:45. Nathan Murphy (12:03) and Dylan Lautzenheiser (12:13) were the next two Cougars to cross the finish line in 22nd and 28th places, respectively. Nick Etter (53rd, 12:42), Sam Easley (58th 12:46), Cade Chiles (67th, 12:52), and Ryan Keber (75th, 13:03) rounded out the top seven.
Also racing for the Cougars were Jared Shaffer (91st), Nick White (98th), Ben Scheidt (100th), Braden VanCleave (110th), Andrew Perry (128th), Bailey Neuenschwander (144th), Jacob Covey (200th), Nick Motycka (204th), and Tyler Nygren.
In a season best time, Megan Barnhart paced the Lady Cougars. Her time of 13:29 earned her 19th place honors. LeAndryce Miller (34th, 14:02) and Natalie Riethman (42nd, 14:07) were the next two Cougars to finish. Ashlynn Friesner (51st, 14:21), Larissa Laudick (64th, 14:40), Anna Henkaline (65th, 14:43), and Morgan Bracken (81st, 15:08) completed the top seven.
Other Cougar runners were Aimee Nicolai (93rd), Caylee Boroff (97th), Maggie Cripe (125th), Shianne Baldwin (130th), Becca Burk (134th), Tori Smith (147th), Karli Thatcher (148th), Olivia Profit (150th), and Valerie Barnhart (155th).
