James P. Agler

James P. Agler, 69, of Van Wert, died at 3:47 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Sr. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born August 15, 1942, in Ohio City, the son of the late Lloyd E. and Ethel L. (Miller) Agler. On October 24, 1964, he married Mary J. (Murphy) Agler, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a son, Eric Agler of Hamilton; two daughters, Pauletta (Ron) Hohlbein of Delphos and Allison (Eric) Hammond of Van Wert; two brothers, Ronald E. (Vera) Agler of Van Wert and Marvin Lee (Belle) Agler of Ohio City; four sisters, Loma L. Miller of Chinook, Mont., Joyce L. (Raymond) Eller of Rockford, Shirley K. (Irvin) Crider of Elida and Kathleen F. Funk of Colorado; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A brother, Ned E. Agler; and two sisters, Jeanette McAfee and Carolyn J. Felver, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert with Pastor Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
