YMCA to offer new ZUMBA classes
The YMCA of Van Wert County will now have ZUMBA added to the current class line-up of total body blast, cycling, cardiopump, sculpt, SilverSplash, SilverSneakers and yoga.
ZUMBA will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:15-6 p.m., beginning October 4. Holly Vaughn, who is certified in ZUMBA (basic 1 and 2) and ZUMBA Gold, will be the instructor.
“We are excited to be able to add ZUMBA to our existing class line-up,” stated Julie Schaufelberger, wellness director. “It allows us to offer such a wide variety of fitness opportunities for all ages and fitness levels.”
ZUMBA, along with all other fitness classes, is free to Y members. Fitness class participants must be at least 13 years of age. As a promotion for the first session of ZUMBA classes, the Y will be offering a ZUMBA pass to potential members. This pass, available to potential members, can be purchased at the front desk of the Y for $100 and will allow participation in this first session of ZUMBA classes only.
Free 20-minute ZUMBA demonstrations will be available to both Y members and potential members during the upcoming Membership Appreciation Event on Monday, October 4. These demonstrations will be held at 5:10 and 6:10 p.m. in gym 1.
Information about this and other fitness opportunities at the Van Wert YMCA can be found by calling 419.238.0443 or visiting www.vwymca.org. The YMCA of Van Wert County is partially funded by The Van Wert County Foundation and United Way of Van Wert County.
