Hospital gives to tennis complex project

Van Wert County Hospital recently put wellness first with a $10,000 donation toward The Van Wert County Foundation Tennis Complex.

“It seems fitting for Van Wert Hospital to give back to our community while promoting healthy living,” says President/CEO Mark Minick.
The new six-tennis court complex, named in honor of its largest donor, will be located in the Van Wert City Schools athletic complex. Construction is already underway and, weather permitting, the complex will be completed in October.
“We are very grateful to Van Wert County Hospital for their generous donation,” says Wayne Kilton, president of the Van Wert County Tennis Association. “This new complex will be open to the public (and) there will be organized youth and adult programs, lessons, physical education classes, tournaments, school team programs and matches and plenty of free court time available.”
The cost to build, equip and maintain the new tennis complex is between $375,000 and $400,000. Additional funds are still needed.
