Kernel Cooper’s names contest winners

Congratulations to Courtney West, 10, of Middle Point, a student at Lincolnview Local Schools who has been selected as the overall winner of the recent coloring contest for Kernel Cooper’s Corn Maze.

Courtney will receive some free passes to the 2011 maze, as well as some “coloring” type prizes so that she can create even more masterpieces!

Winners of various age groups were: Dylan Rager, 8, of Van Wert (Franklin Elementary) and Kellin Putman, 5, of Van Wert (Crestview Elementary). Dylan and Kellin will also receive some free passes to the 2011 maze.

Kernel Cooper’s Corn Maze will be holding a “Relay for Life Day” this coming Saturday, October 10, from 1 p.m. to midnight.  Roast pork and barbecue beef sandwiches will be sold, along with hot dogs and nachos/cheese. All profits from these food sales will go to the Van Wert County Relay for Life.

Local residents can also help Kernel Cooper’s shoot down cancer — with its corn cannon!  Cost to shoot three is $1, with 25 cents automatically going to Relay for Life. Each time the target is hit, Kernel Cooper’s gives another 25 cents! If someone shoots the corn through the hole in the ribbon target, that person’s entire $1 goes to Relay for Life.

Come get lost in the fun!  Kernel Coopers Corn Maze is open weekends through November 5. Check Kernel Cooper’s Corn Maze out at www.kernelcoopers.com for more details!
