Camera Club looks at “granules”
By Rex Dolby

The Wassenberg Camera Club met Thursday, October 13, to compete in prints and slides. “Granules” was the competition theme. Bill Sorensen’s Florida picture was selected as the winning print and Rex Dolby’s slide of a rotary grinder encrusted with diamond chips was picked as the winning slide.
The meeting was conducted by Vice President Doug Heckler in the absence of President Jodi Hattery. Doug called members’ attention to several sign-up sheets. Two sheets were for workers to check out pictures on Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 on October 29 and 30 following the close of the 34th Annual Wassenberg Photography Exhibit.
Another sheet was for Saturday, November 1, from 9-1, when a proposed Holiday Shoot would take place at the Art Center. In 15 minute sessions, families could have portraits taken that would be suitable for Christmas cards. Three different photo packages would be available. To schedule a sitting or to obtain more information, contact Jodi Hattery by phone at 419.234.8587, or by Email at: jodi@hatteryphotography.net.
Heckler also offered for consideration the idea that next year, only the first meeting on the second Thursday and help with the fair and October Show would be scheduled and that the second meeting, perhaps on the fourth Thursday, would be called as needed. A decision will most likely be determined at the club’s December meeting.
Treasurer Karl Gribler reported on the club’s financial condition and Larry Dickerhoof announced that Sunny Schick in Fort Wayne is selling

a Nikon D3000 in nearly mint condition with a full warranty for $400. This is a 10.2 MP, digital SLR, with image stabilization, and a shutter speed range from 30 sec. to 1/4000 of a second.
Information about the club’s next meeting, which may be October 27, could not be confirmed at the time of this writing, but will be published as soon as it is known.
