The Crestview Soccer Lady Knights have put on their armor and strapped on their helmets (figuratively of course) and are ready to battle. On Thursday, October 6, the Lady Knights defeated the Ada Lady Bulldogs 8-0 in a definitely one-sided match. Scorers included; Madison Etzler with three goals, Catelyn Meffard, Mackenzie Richard, Brittany Longwell, Riley Guest, and Lauren Schmid, each with one goal. Megan Foster defended the keep with two saves, ultimately making it a shut-out.
“It was a nice morale boost for the team to win by such a high margin. This was a great Northwest Conference win,” said Crestview left forward Madison Etzler.
This made Crestview Lady Knights Soccer record 2-1-2 in the Northwest Conference and 6-5-2 in total.
On Tuesday, October 11, the Lady Knights hosted the Bluffton Lady Pirates in a Northwest Conference match, winning 1-0. Catelyn Mefferd had the only goal of the night, while 12 shots were taken at Abbey Heslep, the Bluffton goal keeper. Crestview’s goal keep, Megan Foster had four saves for the night, earning yet again another shut-out. This made the Crestview Lady Knights 7-5-2 in total record, and 3-1-2 in the Northwest Conference.
“We played together well as a team, and our crosses were always well timed,” said sweeper Clare Mefferd.
This weekend is Crestview High School’s Fall Homecoming.
