Knights earn volleyball sectional crown
The Crestview Lady Knights volleyball team came away with a sectional title Saturday evening by defeating Delphos Jefferson 25-5, 25-8 and 25-11. That makes the Lady Knights now 19-3 as they advance to the district semifinal at Ottawa-Glandorf Tuesday evening to take on McComb at 6 p.m.
“I was very pleased with level of play we brought to the court as it shows we are striving for the same goals in this tournament run,” Crestview Coach Tammy Gregory said. “We’ve talked a lot about this being a whole new season, as it doesn’t matter what our regular season record was and it doesn’t matter being the NWC champs.
“No one is ready for their season to end; therefore, we can expect only the best from our competition,” she added. “We need to focus on one game at a time and play to the best of ability each and every play. I have all the confidence in the world of this year’s team, as they will settle for nothing less than the best. No matter what the score they will give 110 percent.”
