Knights rise up in fall season

By Christine Errett

Oklahoma cast members Quintin Bouillon and Shelby Minnich rehearse their lines for the show that’s coming up in two weeks.

Chills in the air and the dropping of leaves are the first signs of fall for Crestview students. With many events taking place this autumn, it’s getting to be a busy time of year.

The cross country teams competed in the NWC at Paulding Saturday, October 15. The girls took runner up while the guys have a strong third place finish. Crestview’s homecoming game vs. Columbus Grove took place on Friday, October 21 with a final score of 20-46.

The homecoming dance was October 22. Junior Amanda Lobsiger said “My favorite part of homecoming was the variety of music.”

The girls’ volleyball team came home with a sectional title on Saturday, October 22 after defeating Delphos Jefferson. Scores were 25-5. 25-8 and 25-11. The girls are 19-3 as they advanced to the district semi final at Ottawa Glandorf. Senior setter Danica Hicks stated, “The first part of our tournament went really well, but as we go on we face bigger teams we’ll be fine as long as we keep our composure.”

In other news, students are busily preparing for the upcoming musical, Oklahoma. Junior Quintin Bouillon remarked, “The hardest part about being a lead in the musical is memorizing a three paragraph monologue and saying it alone during the play.”

The Crestview Marching Knights performed at their last competition Saturday, October 22 and had a record-breaking score of 219.2. The band will be performing their annual senior show in a few weeks.
