St. Henry beats Flyers for VW district title

It took five tough games, but St. Henry’s Lady Redskins were finally able to overcome Midwest Athletic Conference rival Maria Stein Marion Local to win the Van Wert Division II district volleyball tournament on Thursday evening.

Marion Local won the first game, 25-21, but the Redskins evened the match up with a 25-16 victory in Game 2. St. Henry also took the third game 25-15 to lead 2-1 in the match, but the Lady Flyers rallied to win the fourth game, 25-15, and force a fifth and deciding game, which St. Henry barely won, 15-11.
