Gladys Ellen Robideau

Gladys Ellen Robideau, 85, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away Monday, October 31, 2011.

She was born September 5, 1926, in Toledo, the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Teachout) Goetz. She married James J. Robideau on November 23, 1949. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 15, 2005.

Gladys was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and a member of the Herrick Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed hosting parties, attending the theater, traveling, and spending time with her many friends and family. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by her sons, James (Theresa) Robideau of Van Wert and Jeff (C.J.) Robideau of Onsted, Mich.; her daughter, Peggy (Ed) Jeffery of Plymouth Township, Mich.; a brother, John (Bonnie) Goetz of Birmingham, Ala.; Her sister, Chris Tibbs of Manitou Beach, Mich.; and her grandchildren, Megan (Kevin) O’Dell, Julie Robideau, Ed, Rachel and Joe Jeffery, Nicole and Lindsey Robideau and Ryan and Brandon Chang.

At her request, cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 4, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes, with a Scripture Service at 7:30 that evening.

Visitation will also take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, with Father Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. A private burial will follow the Mass at Brookside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lenawee Christian School, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
