Helen Jean Hardesty
Helen Jean Hardesty, 78, of Oakwood, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born April 29, 1933, in Auglaize Township, Paulding County, the daughter of the late Otto and Louise M. (Flenteje) Bumpus. On March 24, 1962, she married Arlo B. Hardesty, who preceded her in death on August 14, 1993.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. Lester O. (Rev. Lisa) Hardesty of Cherokee, N.C.; one daughter, Dorothy L. (Rev. Jonathan) Hoagland of Grover Hill; a sister, Olieta Bouldrey of Fairbury, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
An infant son, Barry L. Hardesty; a set of twins; eight sisters, Gertrude Kaylor, Bertha Louth, Rosetta Odem, Louise Underwood, Margaret Gable, Viola Smith, Marjorie Rhoden and Emma Bell Bumpus; and a brother, George W. Bumpus, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, at Paulding Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev., Kim Semran officiating. Burial will be in Junction Cemetery in rural Paulding County.
Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 4, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials: Lighthouse Camp and Conference Center in St. Marys or Paulding Church of the Nazarene.
