VWPD has update on Pak-A-Sak robbery

The Van Wert Police Department has updated information related to its investigation of a robbery that occurred Tuesday night at the Pak-A-Sak service station, located at 800 N. Washington St.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:07 p.m. Tuesday when a white male believed to be approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build entered the convenience store and demanded money from the cash register. The man’s face was partially covered by a thin piece of cloth.
After obtaining the money from store employees, the man fled on foot running southbound from the store to where it is believed a vehicle was waiting.
The Police Department is asking for anyone with information pertaining to the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 419.238.STOP (7867).
In addition to the robbery at the Van Wert Pak A Sak, several similar robberies, including one in Decatur, Ind., and two in Lima, have also been committed this week and authorities are checking to see whether there is evidence linking the individual robberies.
