VW man arrested for probation violation

Van Wert County Sheriff Stan D. Owens announced Tuesday that deputies arrested Elmeco R. Crisp, 35, of Van Wert on a probation violation Monday evening.

The charges stem from information received by Van Wert County deputies that there was illegal drug activity at an Elson Avenue address in Van Wert. As a result of an investigation into the reports, enough information was collected to obtain a search warrant at 840 Elson Ave. in Van Wert from Municipal Court Judge Jill Leatherman.

Seized by deputies in the search of the residence were suspected marijuana, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Owens advised that the investigation is continuing, with possibly additional felony charges forthcoming at a later date on Crisp and occupants of the residence that was searched.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Van Wert Police Department and the Van Wert Municipal Court probation officer.
