4-H club announces holiday light show
The Van Wert County 4-H Interstate Exchange Club is hosting its holiday spectacular for Van Wert County and the surrounding region from November 26 through December 26.

The “Van Wert County Holiday Lights at the Fair” is a drive-through of more than 60 light displays at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds every weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. Exhibits are themed around the holidays and are supplied by local businesses, churches and clubs.
Also this year, the Gene Baughman family has donated many displays. The Baughman family hosted a light show for many years for people to enjoy.
The light show is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Santa will be greeting each car Saturday evenings (December 3, 10, 17) to say hi to all the children, young and old, as they visit the light show. Also available will be carriage rides by Poling Farms and Towne and Country Carriage each Sunday (December 4, 11, 18) for an additional cost of $7.
The Van Wert County Holiday Lights at the Fair can be accessed off of Fox Road at the Gate 5 entrance to the fairgrounds. Cost is only $5 per car or $25 per bus. Multi-trip decals are also available for $10 to enjoy the light show as many times as families would like.

The Van Wert County 4-H Interstate Exchange group is comprised of youths from all areas of the county. This event is a fundraiser for the group to help cover the cost of its youth exchange with other states during the summer. Each year the group hosts, or travels to, another state to spend a week with 4-Her’s experiencing their culture and lifestyle, building friendships and learning more about other areas of the country. The exchange is working with service clubs and other organizations to host this event. Any students, clubs or organizations needing service hours please contact the club to help participate
