Dan R. Jerome

Dan R. Jerome, 81, of Van Wert, died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Vancrest Assisted Living in Van Wert.

He was born October 13, 1930, in Van Wert, the son of the late Daniel and Winnie (Snyder) Jerome. On August 18, 1948, he married P. Joyce (Herring) Jerome, who preceded him in death on October 31, 1990.

Survivors include five children, Barry Jerome, Melissa (Gary) Clay and Joy (Jon) Bagley, all of Van Wert, Michael (Teri) Jerome of Payne and Elizabeth (Kerry) Hubartt of Leo, Ind.; a sister, Kay (Rex) Rodman of Van Wert; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Five brothers, Richard, Robert, Maynard, James and Graydon Jerome; one foster brother, Paul Mason; and two sisters, Gwendolyn Knodel and Catherine Roth, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, November 13, at the funeral home.
