Tip-Off Classic tournament dates set

Van Wert High School will again host the boys’ and girls’ holiday kick-off tournaments to open the 2011-2012 basketball season.

The fifth annual McDonald’s Girls’ Tip-Off Tournament will be held Friday, November 25, and Saturday, November 26, in the Van Wert High School gymnasium.

Opening up the basketball season on November 25 will be Wayne Trace and Ottoville at 6 p.m., with Van Wert and Crestview to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.  On Saturday night, the consolation game begins at 6 p.m., with the championship game to follow. Games will be open sessions, which means one ticket will gain admittance to both games that particular evening.

Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students at the door. There is no Pre Sale.

The south high school gym entrance will be the only gate open for both games for both nights.

The profits from these games are divided equally between the four schools.

Doors for fans open both nights at 5:30 p.m.

The Van Wert County Hospital’s sixth annual Boys Tip-Off Classic will be held on Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, in the Van Wert High School gymnasium.

Opening up the basketball season on Friday will be Lincolnview and Crestview at 6 p.m., with Wayne Trace and Van Wert to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Saturday night, December 3, will find the consolation game beginning at 6 p.m. and the championship game to follow. Both nights are open sessions, with one ticket gaining admittance to both games that particular evening.

Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students pre-sale. All tickets at the door will be $6.

Fans arriving for the first game are requested to park on the south side of Van Wert High School, while those arriving for the second game are encouraged to park on the north side.
