Lions donate to library

The Van Wert Lions Club recently made a donation of $500 to the Children’s Department of Brumback Library. Shown are (from the left) Librarian Marcia Weldy, Library Director John Carr and Van Wert Lions President Charles Brickner. The Lions held several fundraisers throughout the year, including its french fry trailer, in order to raise money for projects around the city, county, state and internationally. Local projects include building and maintenance of pavilions at Jubilee Park and other beautification projects at the park, as well as some additional park projects that will be completed in the spring of 2012. The Lions also build wheelchair ramps, furnish eyeglass examination and glasses, and help with Habitat for Humanity houses.
