Mendon sets annual Christmas events

MENDON — The 13th annual Mendon Town Hall Christmas Festival of Trees & Christmas Walk will be held this coming weekend, December 2-3.

Organizations, businesses and individuals from around the area (including those in Van Wert) have more new and unique ideas planned again this year for decorating Christmas trees for this event, which features a record 100 trees that will be on display throughout the Town Hall.

Other events planned this weekend include the following:

Friday and Saturday

  • Jim’s Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Museum will have a number of vintage motorcycles and collectibles on display.
  • Llamas, camels, sheep and donkeys will be among the Animals of the Nativity at “Bethlehem Stable” (old Mendon firehouse), from 5-9 p.m. Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday only

  • Quilt Show at Mendon United Methodist Church.
  • Santa Claus appearance (1:30-4:30 p.m.)
  • Free horse-drawn carriage rides (1:30-5:30 p.m.)

Hours for the festival overall are 6-9 p.m. Friday and 1-5:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $1 per person at both the Town Hall and Motorcycle Museum (ages 12 and under free, when accompanied by an adult).

Complimentary refreshments are included in the Town Hall admission for visitors tot he Tree Festival.
