U.S. 30 accident

What is being reported as a hit-skip accident that occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Monday evening was still under investigation by the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol this morning. According to reports at the scene, a semi tractor-trailer rig driven west on U.S. 30 hit the rear of a Chrysler (shown above) that had apparently driven in front of it from the intersection at Ohio 49. The impact of the crash reportedly spun the Chrysler around and it was then hit head-on by another car driving west on U.S. 30. The semi then apparently left the scene and has not yet been found by law enforcement officials. Assisting at the scene were Convoy Fire and EMS Department and Brickner Ambulance Service. Two people were reportedly transported from the scene, apparently to Van Wert County Hospital, but no more information has been received at this point. (Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
