Wow! What a Christmas card

I just came from the Niswonger Performing Arts Center where I took a look at the stage in the Music Hall.  We are all set for the first Kenny G Christmas show tonight. As I looked at the stage while the lighting director was getting acclimated to the lighting console, I thought to myself, “This stage looks like a Christmas card!”  The production team of Kenny G brought some very cool stage settings and, with our own Christmas lights, it looked very professional and beautiful.  I told Kenny G’s tour manager “you won’t find a better looking stage anywhere else on your tour.”

Now all we have to do is add the magic of Kenny G’s saxophone and his band to make for another spectacular Christmas concert at the NPAC. All of that will happen at 7:30 p.m. tonight.  We were sold out last night; have been for quite awhile. But, as I am writing right now, there are still some seats available for tonight’s (Wednesday’s) concert.

We are beginning the Christmas tour for Kenny G and the excitement is in high gear as he and the band kick off one of the most exciting Christmas tours in the entire United States.  If you haven’t experienced this show, I invite you to come to the door tonight and chances are you may be able to purchase a seat.  I don’t think you will regret making the effort.  You won’t see anything better anywhere else- that’s for sure!  To see a peek at the stage, go to Facebook and see a picture we have just downloaded.

However, if you can’t make it to Kenny G, perhaps a family Christmas is more suitable for your style.  This Sunday, December 11, the Ricky Skaggs family including the Whites will open the doors to their living room and invite you in to experience Christmas with their family.  Now this is a 4 p.m. show.  Lobby doors open at 3 p.m. and doors to the hall will open at 3:30 p.m.  Beware of the unique start time!  After you have enjoyed the show, you can take your family out to eat or return home just in time for a dinner of your own.

Currently, there are about 100 tickets left for this show.  Our media sponsor, T-102 out of Lima will be helping us get the word out the rest of this week about the concert.  Of course, Ricky Skaggs is a legendary Country and Pop singer and the White family has long been known for its Bluegrass and Country music.

In preparing for their arrival, they have been wonderful people to work with. Their Christian heritage shows in the way they do business.  Ricky Skaggs is quoted as saying, “We believe family is one of the greatest things about Christmas. God gave us His very best gift in Jesus Christ and we wanted to keep Him the focus.”

Now you know that their show will be filled with many great Christmas songs, but their focus will be on the real meaning of Christmas.  It is always a pleasure to work with stars who understand and live the true meaning of Christmas!

By the way, tickets get released today for the Broadway tour of Fiddler on the Roof, which is coming for two shows at the NPAC on March 3.  Single tickets are now on sale. I can’t think of a better Christmas gift than tickets to the Broadway show!  Stop by and visit the box office or call 419.238.6722.

There are many other Christmas events and programs going on throughout our community and in our churches.  I hope you can support them and attend.  There is never a shortage of things to do and see in Van Wert.  This Christmas Season is certainly no exception.  Enjoy the season and remember the reason!

FINÉ.
