Convenience stores report funny money
Two local convenience stores reported attempts to pass counterfeit $100 bills at their establishments on Tuesday.

Certified Oil Company, 210 N. Washington St., reported at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday that someone tried to pay for items at the convenience store using a counterfeit $100 bill.
At 5:25 p.m. that day, an employee of Tyler’s Short Stop, 714 E. Main St., reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill at that store.
Local businesses should be wary of anyone trying to use $100 bills to pay for items and should inspect the bills carefully. Anyone finding counterfeit bills should report the incident to the Van Wert Police Department at 419.238.2462.
