Edna M. Sitton

Edna M. Sitton, 93, of Baton Rouge, La., and formerly of Paulding, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

She was born July 19, 1918, in Dayton, the daughter of the late Claude and Irene (Joyce) Smith. On September 8, 1945, she married William M. Sitton Sr., who preceded her in death on January 21, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, William M. Sitton Jr. of Baton Rouge and John F. Sitton of Indiana, Pa.; two daughters, Irene Duffany of Portsmouth and Elizabeth (Edward) Hopkins of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A son, Charles Sitton; three brothers, Edward, Ray and Robert Smith; and three sisters, Erma Sitton, Kathryn Long and Elnora Wilhelm, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Kim Semran officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery in Cecil.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, December 16, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
